SPARKS OF HOPE LIGHT UP THE DARK – ONE TWO JAGA
KUALA LUMPUR, 2ND March 2018 – Organized by 2nd Malaysia International Film Festival, the movie <One, Two, Jaga> will having its press conference today. The movie is finally hitting the big screen after two years of production! The director Nam Ron, producer Bront Palarae, famous Malaysian actors Rosdeen Suboh, Amerul Affendi, Filipino talent Timothy Castillo, and cinematographer – Helmi Yusof are attending the press conference today (2nd March), 3pm at Sungei Wang.
When everyone is taught to depend on the men and women in blue who have sworn to uphold the law and protect the public, it is shocking to find cops turning to the dark side. <One, Two, Jaga> has been a film with continuous concerned from the public since in the stage of production. It is an action film that exploring a heavy topic of corruption and migrant workers. It also goes down in history as the only film screenplay about the Malaysian police’s corruption that PDRM has approved to date.
<One, Two, Jaga> first came to light when the concept trailer of the film was released on Youtube in 2014 and it gets tons of attention during the Southeast Asian Film Financing (SAFF) Project Market in December 2015, which they won a camera, and a development fund from Finas, the project went full steam ahead.
Produced by Bront Palarae and Jazzy Group, <One, Two, Jaga> is starred by various marvelous stars from Indonesia and Malaysia including Zahiril Adzim, New Zealand-raised Ario Bayu, Asmara Abigail, Rosdeen Suboh, Amerul Affendi and Timothy Castillo. Director Nam Ron, who also stars in it, wants to present a story which is a social commentary that occur within the tapestries of our society. The script was inspired by a migrant worker who was a cleaner in his apartment. Nam Ron is also one of the most accomplished theatre and film actors in Malaysia. While his acting talents make him one of the most sought-after actors of his generation, he is also a passionate filmmaker of immense promise.
