Synopsis

Alicia is mixed race. Her father is Chinese and her mother is Malay. Alicia has lived in Bangsar since she was born. But when her father gets a work project to Langkawi, the family gets uprooted too. At her new school, Alicia feels like a fish out of water. When she gets punished for not wearing her school tudung properly, Alicia meets other misfits, Pavitra, Ming Kit and Saleha – whom she tries to befriend. Through their friendship, they come up with a rojak business idea to raise money for their individual needs. To run a business with friends isn’t easy. Alicia and friends will face challenges that will truly test their friendship.

Khairi Anwar is a storyteller for the stage and screen. With 10 years of experience of writing and directing, his works has travelled regionally to Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and South Korea. Khairi has been a nominee of, and won a number of awards for the stage and screen, including BOH Cameronian Arts Awards, BMW Shorties, and his first feature film, has travelled to Jogja-Netpac Asian Film Festival 2021 and Aceh Film Festival 2022. Amongst Khairi’s notable works for TV are Kau VS Aku, SMK, Megastar Academy, TAUT, and a few others. For TVC and Commercial, he has directed and work with various brands such as AEON, Celcom Digi, Citibank, BMW Malaysia, Mitsubishi, Unilever, Mah Sing, PERKESO, Canon, Laneige, and more.
