Synopsis
Miguel, a 7-year-old boy, lives with three generations of estranged women in an old house. Among them his mother who, adrift with the trauma of her divorce, distances herself from the boy. Miguel takes refuge in Carmen, an enigmatic Venezuelan immigrant who works as a maid for the Brazilian family. Carmen becomes an ambiguous mother figure for the boy, who develops an intimate and unusual bond with her, triggering his inner world and introducing him to a universe in which the real and the imaginary intertwine.

Director
Venezuelan director and screenwriter George Walker Torres, graduated in film directing at the FEMIS film school in France, and in screenwriting at the AMERICAN FILM INSTITUTE. As well as his short fiction films, his two feature documentaries were awarded at major festivals like Biarritz, Amiens, Havana, Hong Kong and Cartagena. Currently based in Brazil, he recently worked as a screenwriter in the fiction TV series “OS IRMÃOS FREITAS” directed by Walter Salles, Sérgio Machado and Aly Muritiba. He also worked as a writer for the feature film “MARIGHELLA” directed by Wagner Moura, recently premiered at the Berlin Film festival. George also co-wrote the feature film “RIO DO DESEJO” directed by Sérgio Machado, premiered at Tallin Black Nights Festival.
